After a wonderful kick-off pre-release party last Sunday, where unity literally reigned for a time, Streamside hits the road this week for the first time.
Please pray for encounters planned and unplanned, and also pray for your own involvement through finding opportunities to offer Bible studies in your circle of friends and to seek speaking engagements where we can spread the word about Streamside in ever-widening ripples.
This is not so much about selling books, although paying expenses does help. It is about obeying the command of our true king to begin taking seriously his command to love each other as sacrificially as he loves us.
And that is a lot!
This week I will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina on engineering business. But the cool part is that three of the people I am working professionally with there are brothers and very interested in Streamside! Since they all live in the Boston area, it won’t be long until Streamside pops onto the radar there.
On the way home, I have to make a connection in Houston, Texas, where the same situation exists – two business interests who know where Jesus stands in their priorities.
This, I believe, is why God kept me working as an engineer. Just as the early church found the Pax Romana (the peaceful reign of the Roman Empire) amenable to spreading the gospel, I am blessed with the opportunity to spread the word of unity around a much wider area, and then to see what God will do.
As the prophet Isaiah said, “Lord, here am I. Send me!”
