sign the charter
Here is a vision that will happen only if God wants it to happen, but it also depends on you.
On October 31, 1517, as he hammered 95 reasons why the church was in error to the door of Wittenberg Cathedral, Martin Luther had no desire to split the church. He wanted to re-form the church according to the truth of the Bible. Ironically, the Reformation became a catastrophic splitting of the church, not a re-forming in unity. Aren’t 500 years enough? What if, on the 500th anniversary of Luther’s 95 theses, on October 31, 2017, millions of names are brought to Wittenberg, Germany, including yours, on a charter for unity of the Christian church? The principles undergirding this charter are presented in Streamside – they are simply a fresh look at what Jesus taught, nothing more, nothing less, using the engineer’s model for problem-solving. Now that Streamside is published, it is time to begin proposing elements of the charter. You will need a Bible at your elbow as you read Streamside, and when you are finished, I believe you will want to help develop the charter. Come to the blog as we share the movement of the Spirit toward this goal. What might happen if Christians around the world find their common DNA as children of God and make a public statement of unity? God will be honored and Jesus’s prayer will be answered at last, because his children finally unblocked the flow of unity. Please come back here frequently, watch for progress, and pray for the Lord’s will in fulfilling this vision! |
