Blog posts will be a bit limited this week, because we have received the final edits from the publisher and there is work to be done to comply with their standards. This is my final shot at the manuscript, and then suddenly after fifteen years of writing and dreaming, it will be complete.
Don’t forget to plan on buying a copy for everyone on your gift list when the release date comes.
When I received the comments from my editor, I was stunned to find the following note:
“The most important thing you accomplished in this text was to write an interesting and unique theological opinion on the kingdom of God. You did this by using your extensive knowledge and experience as an engineer. This is significant because the reader will realize that God reveals himself in each of us in personal and intimate ways that we can fully understand.
“The organization of your manuscript is thematic and effective. I like that you keep each topic short so a reader can opt to spend a few minutes each day to read one nugget of wisdom. At the beginning, I find some ideas very mind-boggling, but halfway through, my tears began to fall as each puzzle piece on Jesus’s parable and teachings began to fit together. I liked your tone and style as a writer because it is very conversational and you are very sensitive to your reader by having an attention/comprehension check every now and then.
“The tone of your manuscript is inspiring and liberating. This is a very powerful book that can change lives. I am very grateful to God that he gave me the blessing to work on your book. It has changed my attitude toward death, from a dreaded event to a joyful expectation that Jesus will come for me anytime.”
Wow! Aren’t editors supposed to be tough and critical?
