Early morning after the first Streamside pre-release party – what a joy to be surrounded by brothers and sisters gathered from all corners of our forty years in Denver! It is a thrill to know that now the small mustard seeds of unity are being planted, sinking in like a slow, nourishing Spring rain.
What will sprout?
And the Lord gave me these words from George MacDonald’s The Gentlewoman’s Choice this morning:
If it is to be, God will see to it. Small beginnings with slow growings have time to root themselves thoroughly. God’s beginnings are always imperceptible, whether in the region of soul or matter. How the devil would have laughed at the idea of a society or an organization for saving the world. But when he saw one man take it in hand, one who was in no haste even to do that, one who would only do the will of God with all his heart and soul, and cared for nothing else, then, indeed, he might tremble for his kingdom…it is individual love alone that can combine into a larger flame.
This one man is Jesus, who prayed for the perfect unity of his children and who waits for our response!
