It is no coincidence that on the day I present these three chapters, two stories appeared in America just today that fit our current course in chilling parallel to ancient Israel's. I believe God has a warning for America.
Just as Solomon reached the end of his reign ready to crown Rehoboam as heir to the throne, our President has planned to crown Hilary Clinton to further his own legacy. Just as something went terribly wrong for Rehoboam, something has gone terribly wrong for Hilary Clinton.
The first story published today is that the President lied to the American people about the Iran nuclear deal just to make sure it passed. His culture of deceit is secure in Hilary Clinton’s episodes in Benghazi and illegal private email.
Just as Rehoboam lied to the people and turned his coronation into a contest against Jeroboam for supremacy of a divided nation, Hilary Clinton of the establishment lied to the people repeatedly and turned her supposed coronation into a bitter contest against a communist who had no chance and an outsider whose skills are not known.
In the second story published today, an elementary school cancelled a traditional father-daughter dance because it upheld sexual stereotypes discriminatory to those who were not fathers or daughters! What could be sadder?
Just as both Rehoboam and Jeroboam turned away from the God of Israel to foreign gods and graven images, the Obama administration and its heirs have led and will continue to lead an all-out assault on our freedoms of religious speech and liberty.
Those who view the current election cycle in America as a spat that will dissolve right after the election do so at our collective peril. Israel suffered from this same breaking point in their history for the better part of a thousand years through forced removal from their homeland and brutal reigns of dictators. Are we ready for that?
So what is it that happened? Could it happen here? Consider the parallels.
Read Chapters 12 to 14 carefully; it is worth your time today. Note how Hilary Clinton parallels Rehoboam, the establishment candidate, and how Donald Trump parallels Jeroboam, the outsider candidate. These two now rule the divided kingdoms called Democrats and Republicans. Yet both have the lowest levels of favorability among the American people in history; had there been polling in the old days, the same would be true of Rehoboam and Jeroboam.
So what is happening?
Unknown to both Rehoboam and Jeroboam was that many years earlier (see Chapter 11) God's judgment was to pit one against the other, due solely to the horrible sins of their predecessor Solomon.
The die had been cast for a long time.
It has been a similar period of time, from 1954 to 2016, since our Supreme Court ordered God out of the classroom. Over the past eight years, our current President has accelerated that pace dramatically, rushing God out of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Was the die cast for us two generations ago?
Did God make his decision long ago to divide and exile America from its homeland? If so, the parallel strongly suggests he would use two combatants, one from the establishment and the other an outsider, to complete his work.
Here is the worst part of the parallel: neither party won in ancient Israel. They both died powerless, and the nation was under God’s judgment for almost a thousand years after that, as we shall see by following the Old Testament to its conclusion.
Do we understand this today, as we watch Russia, Iran, China, North Korea and others circle like sharks around the nation God built, aided and abetted by our own leaders?
We are rapidly approaching God’s definition of disunity, which is detestable to him.
