Last time I asked why we might want to aggregate in a place on a regular basis. The most important answer might be so that we can worship freely according to our traditions. We do this regularly on our Sabbath, but not outside our local denominational boundaries.
Streamside believes there is another way, not replacing our denominational worship, but adding to it by seeking out our brothers and sisters who share the same spiritual DNA – all those who know and love God.
I repeat the photo from the previous blog intentionally – what are the people in the picture doing? They have aggregate to celebrate! They have not gathered to go to work or to shop at the mall. They are clearly having a very good time celebrating something – most likely a sporting event.
Now let me ask you – how often do you get to hear when something truly exciting happens at another house of faith in your city? Not very often, I would guess. And even if you do hear something, where could you go to celebrate it?
The truth is that exciting things happen every day all over town that we never hear about and we have little opportunity to celebrate. Yet what might happen if we could?
Not only would God be pleased with a joyful, unified voice from all his children, but unity might actually break out among brothers and sisters! This would be made possible by an elevated sense of common ground – joy of celebration – among God’s children.
Allow me to submit that some of the greatest events seen in our world happen every day and are never elevated or celebrated because there is no place to aggregate. The ACE of Hearts could become that place.
What do I mean about great things happening every day? If you have never been connected to a prayer group in your church, join it now. Quietly, out of sight but not out of mind, God is always moving, always answering prayer, always speaking in whispers, always healing always performing miracles.
Yet we have no way to celebrate these powerful movements – yet.
And if we did, we would then also have a venue for raising other concerns as a unified voice.
